Using bears to express emotions, this powerful, unique presentation is a mental health advocacy project that speaks to everyone. It moves the audience to reflect on the truth that the mentally ill and the mentally well share the same emotions, however differently they might be expressed. This realization helps to sensitize the audience and to de-stigmatize their views of mental illness.
“The presentation is phenomenal! Very eye opening and moving perspective. Dynamic speaker."
Each bear is an expression of a different emotion. Tracey has crafted each to help her visualize her emotions and better understand them. Says Tracey, “sometimes I impose the emotion I am feeling on the bear and sometimes, the bear suggests the emotion I wish to express.”
Connecting the general public with the mentally ill through the common denominator of feelings.

Tracey is bipolar with anxiety disorder and is now in recovery. In her presentation, she recounts her journey through grim years of illness and addiction and working through it in therapy and most recently, with the bears. Learn More
